It is the highest-value housing on the south coast — large detached houses on wooded plots, gated apartment blocks and penthouses — and the two town pages above carry the street-level detail. Five and a half miles from base, inside the free-mileage radius, so no travel charge even out to the end of the spit. Two things genuinely affect the price here and neither is distance. The first is the gated developments: many need access arranged in advance with a concierge or a code, and a van sitting at a barrier is time you are paying for, so it is worth confirming before the day. The second is Banks Road in summer, which becomes a single slow queue from late morning through the afternoon and can add half an hour each way to a Sandbanks job. We book early on that road for a reason, and we will tell you plainly if the slot you want is the expensive one.
