Furniture delivery in Bournemouth, Poole & Christchurch

Bought a sofa on Facebook Marketplace in Poole? Won a wardrobe on eBay collection-only in Christchurch? Need an Ikea or DFS delivery dragged the last two miles up three flights of stairs in a Boscombe top-floor flat? That's the bread and butter of our furniture delivery service, and we do dozens of these jobs every week across the BH postcode area. It is also the job most people have in mind when they search for a man with a van: one item, two addresses, and somebody who will actually carry it rather than leave it on the pavement.

We collect from one address, deliver to another, and — if you want — carry the item to the room of your choice and assemble standard flat-pack. One job, one fixed price, no faff. No mileage surcharges inside BH, no weekend premium, no parcel-shop drop-offs that go missing for a week.

What we move every week

If it's bigger than a microwave and smaller than a small house, we've probably delivered one this month:

  • Sofas and corner suites — including bulky 3-seaters and chaise-end sofas that won't fit a Transit
  • Beds and mattresses (king, super-king, electric adjustable, divan bases, ottoman bed frames)
  • Wardrobes, sideboards and chests of drawers — flat-pack or solid wood, modern or antique
  • Dining tables and chair sets — extending tables, bench seating, garden dining sets
  • Garden furniture — rattan sets, BBQs, sheds (flat-packed), trampolines
  • Appliances — washing machines, fridge-freezers, range cookers, American-style fridges (with notice)
  • Pianos — uprights only (no grands), with two-person crew and proper straps
  • Mirrors, art and bulky frames — wrapped properly so glass doesn't move
  • Marketplace, eBay, Gumtree and Vinted collections anywhere in BH and the New Forest
  • Charity shop pickups and drop-offs — both ways

If you can buy it second-hand, we can probably move it. The only items we won't touch are firearms, livestock, hazardous waste and anything illegal.

Pricing — flat fee, no surprises

Single-item furniture delivery inside the BH postcode area starts at £65 for small items (chairs, bedside tables, small flat-pack) and £85–£120 for sofas, beds and large wardrobes. We quote a flat price based on:

  • Pickup and drop-off postcodes (and how far apart they are)
  • Item size and weight — a 4-seater corner sofa is more than a single armchair
  • Stairs and access — lift vs no lift, narrow doorways, distance from parking
  • Whether you'd like assembly at the other end
  • Whether the seller can help lift — if not, we may add a second person

You'll always see the full price before booking, broken down so you can see what each part costs. There's no fuel charge inside BH, no weekend or evening premium, and the price you're quoted is the price you pay.

A few real examples from this month:

  • 3-seater sofa, Poole → Charminster, lift to first floor at delivery: £75
  • King-size bed frame + mattress, Westbourne → Winton, second-floor walk-up: £95
  • Wardrobe collection from Marketplace seller in Christchurch + delivery to Bournemouth: £70
  • Ikea Pax wardrobe last-mile delivery + assembly in Boscombe: £120
  • Two-stop Marketplace haul (sofa from Poole, dining table from Westbourne) to single drop in Bournemouth: £110

Why use a proper man and van rather than a courier?

Couriers are great for parcels. They struggle with anything that needs two people, doesn't fit in a Transit, or needs to go up stairs. They also have a habit of cancelling at short notice when a job is bigger than the description suggested, leaving you to start the search again with the seller threatening to relist.

Our Luton van and a strong driver can handle items that couriers refuse — and we treat your furniture with blankets and straps, not bubble wrap and a prayer. We also lift, carry, position and reassemble, which couriers almost never do at any price.

We handle the messy edge cases couriers won't:

  • Sellers who can't help lift — we bring a second person if needed
  • Buildings with no lift — top-floor walk-ups are fine, just tell us in advance
  • Awkward antiques and glass-fronted units — properly wrapped, properly strapped
  • Same-day collections to beat a "must collect by Sunday or it goes to someone else" deadline
  • Multi-stop jobs — pick up from two or three sellers on the same route for one combined price
  • Tight access — narrow alleyways, kerbside loading, no off-road parking

Marketplace and eBay collections — the sweet spot

Half of what we do is buying-and-collecting from Facebook Marketplace, eBay collection-only listings, Gumtree, Vinted and local Buy Sell Swap groups. It's a perfect fit because:

  • Most listings are vans-only territory — too big for the buyer's hatchback or Transit
  • Sellers are often on a deadline to clear the item before they move out
  • The buyer can't always be there in person to collect, and trusts us to inspect and pay on their behalf
  • We can do two or three pickups on the same trip for a single combined price

To book a Marketplace job, just send the listing link or a screenshot, plus the pickup and drop-off postcodes. We'll quote a fixed price the same day, message the seller to arrange a window, do the inspection, hand over the money (or you transfer once we've checked the item), and deliver to your door.

Popular pickup areas

We collect from sellers daily across the BH area. Our highest-volume pickup areas are:

We also run regular delivery routes into Wimborne, Ringwood, Verwood, Ferndown and the New Forest. For longer hauls — buying a sofa in London, Bristol or Brighton and bringing it home — see our popular routes for typical price bands.

Assembly and disposal — the extras most people forget

Two things almost nobody thinks about when buying second-hand furniture:

  • Assembly at the other end. Flat-pack wardrobes and bed frames are rarely fun on your own. Tell us in advance and we'll bring the right tools and put it together as part of the job.
  • Disposal of the old item. Replacing a sofa? We can take the old one away to the recycling centre or a charity, depending on its condition. Usually £25–£50 extra and saves you a council bulky-waste fee.

How quickly can you collect and deliver?

  • Most furniture deliveries inside BH happen within 24–48 hours of booking, often same day if you message before 11am
  • Long-distance pickups (London, Bristol, Birmingham) are typically 2–4 days depending on whether we can pair with another job on the same route
  • Saturday and Sunday slots are available and usually book up by Thursday — get in early for weekends

Booking a furniture delivery

  1. Send the listing link or photos plus pickup and drop-off postcodes via WhatsApp (07879 168 829).
  2. Get a fixed price quote the same day, usually within an hour during the working week.
  3. We message the seller, agree a window, collect, deliver and assemble if needed.
  4. You pay after — bank transfer, card or cash.

"I needed someone to pick up a sofa for me and Robert was brilliant from start to finish. Friendly on Wottsapp . The day before he messaged just to make sure everything was ok. He messaged me the morning of pick up & let me know what time they would be arriving. They were great getting the sofa downstairs and taking it to the flat. Nothing was too much trouble. I will definitely be using these guys again. Thanks to you both. Lisa Osborne"
