Quotes and bookings
Quotes are based on the information you give us — the items, the addresses, the access at both ends and the floor level. If the job on the day is materially different from what was described, we will tell you before we start and agree a revised price with you. We will not change the price mid-job without telling you first.
A booking is confirmed when we have agreed a date, an approximate time and a price.
Prices
Our charges are a £25 call-out (£45 on Sundays) plus an hourly rate: £40 for one person, £65 for two, £90 for a three-person Luton crew. The minimum charge is £65.
The first 10 miles are included. Beyond that, mileage is £1.20 per mile calculated on the round trip, and driving time is charged at the same hourly rate as the work.
Stairs are £8 per flight. Waste disposal is £35 per quarter van load. Same-day bookings are charged at 1.3 times the standard rate.
Cancellation
Cancel or reschedule with more than 24 hours' notice and there is no charge.
Inside 24 hours, the call-out fee is payable — £25, or £45 on a Sunday. That covers a slot we can no longer fill.
If we have to cancel — breakdown, illness, or weather that makes the job unsafe — you pay nothing, and we will help you find another date or another firm.
Payment
Payment is due in full on completion, by cash or bank transfer. We do not ask for a deposit.
Access and parking
Arranging parking and access at both addresses is your responsibility. If we cannot park within a reasonable carrying distance, or a lift is out of service and this was not mentioned when booking, the job will take longer and will cost more. Any parking fines or permit costs incurred at your addresses are payable by you.
Please make sure walkways are clear and that anything fragile or sentimental is pointed out to us before we start.
What we cannot carry
We cannot take hazardous or flammable materials, gas cylinders, asbestos, chemicals, illegal items, live animals, or fridges and freezers containing food waste. Please empty and defrost appliances before we arrive.
We recommend you carry cash, jewellery, passports, medication and irreplaceable documents yourself rather than putting them in the van.
Pianos are moved ground floor to ground floor only, with no stairs at either end. Lift access is fine where the lift is wider than the instrument. If you have stairs, we will tell you at the quoting stage and refer you to a specialist.
Insurance and liability
We carry goods-in-transit cover up to £10,000 and £1 million public liability insurance. We are a registered waste carrier with the Environment Agency.
We are not liable for damage caused by pre-existing defects, by items packed by you where the packing was inadequate, or by structural issues at either property such as door frames too narrow for an item you have asked us to force through. Where an item cannot be moved safely, we will stop and tell you rather than risk it.
Please report any damage to us within 48 hours of the job so we can put it right.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
