BH8 is one of the largest postcodes on our patch and it changes character completely from end to end. The southern tip around Springbourne and Holdenhurst Road is dense terraces and flats; Charminster in the middle is Edwardian terraces and student houses; Queens Park and Strouden Park are inter-war semis with gardens; and Throop and Muscliff at the northern edge are semi-rural with the river and the mill. Castlepoint and the Royal Bournemouth Hospital both sit inside it. Because it spans so much, the page you actually want is often Charminster for the middle, or Bournemouth for the wider picture.

Under two miles from base, no travel charge anywhere in BH8. Access is the variable: the Charminster terraces have narrow shared drives and permit parking that fills by early evening, while Muscliff and Throop have driveways and space but add ten minutes of driving at each end. Castle Lane East and West are the arteries and both queue at school times, so we book either side of them. If you are near the hospital, be aware the surrounding streets are permit-only and heavily enforced — worth telling us in advance so we can plan where the van actually stops.
