Full house removals across Bournemouth, Poole & Christchurch

Moving a whole house is rarely just about the van. It's about parking permits on tight Victorian terraces in Winton, getting a mattress safely down a turning staircase in Westbourne, lifting a glass-fronted dresser through a 1930s bay window in Charminster, and finishing the day with everything in the right room ready to live in — kettle plugged in, beds made up, kids settled. Rob has been running house removals across Dorset for eight years and treats every job like it's his own move. Plenty of people ring asking for a man with a van and then describe a whole house — if that is you, this is the page you want. Same person answering the phone, bigger van, more hands on the day.

We handle 1-bed flats up to 4-bed family homes with the same owner-operator service: one phone number, one quote, one team that turns up. No subcontracted strangers, no surprise charges at the door, no "the porter charge wasn't included in the quote" conversation at 6pm.

What a full house removal includes

Every house removal comes with the same core service. There are no hidden tiers, no "premium" upgrades that quietly remove things from the standard package, no extras invoiced after the job.

  • Luton van (one or two depending on volume) with tail-lift for heavy items
  • Two-person crew as standard; third person added for larger 3-bed and 4-bed moves and any home with significant access challenges
  • Full furniture protection: heavy moving blankets, mattress bags, sofa covers, TV boxes, bubble for mirrors and glass
  • Dismantle and rebuild of beds, wardrobes, dining tables and standard flat-pack at both ends
  • Floor and corner protection at both properties — runners on carpets, blankets on banisters
  • Goods-in-transit cover up to £10,000 per load, £1m public liability insurance
  • Help carrying boxes from any floor — there is no extra stairs charge, ever

Packing materials (boxes, paper, tape, wardrobe boxes, dish packs) can be supplied at cost if you'd like us to bring them along on quote day or move day. If you'd rather we did the packing too, we can quote a full pack-and-move as a single price.

How we price house moves — flat fees, written down

We quote a flat price for every house removal, based on a quick video survey via WhatsApp or a list of rooms and big items. That price includes loading, driving, unloading and reassembly at the other end. You won't get a different invoice on the day unless you genuinely add work — and we'll always agree any change in writing first.

As a rough guide for local moves inside the BH area:

  • 1-bed flat local move: from £280
  • 2-bed house local move: from £420
  • 3-bed house local move: from £640
  • 4-bed family home: from £880
  • 5-bed or larger: quoted individually

Long-distance moves (anything outside the BH area) are quoted by distance and volume — see our popular routes for typical bands. A 2-bed home from Bournemouth to London usually lands between £750 and £1,200 depending on access at both ends.

A timeline that actually works

The biggest mistake people make moving house is underestimating how long the day takes. A 3-bed move with kids, pets and a garage full of "we'll deal with that later" is rarely a 4-hour job — it's a full day, and pretending otherwise creates stress. Here's a realistic timeline for an average 2- to 3-bed move:

  1. Arrival window 8.00–9.00am — we text on the way and confirm the actual arrival
  2. Walk-around and quick plan — we point at every room, agree what goes where, flag anything fragile
  3. Loading 1.5–3 hours — heaviest items first, fragile last, everything wrapped or padded
  4. Drive — usually under an hour for local moves; longer for cross-county
  5. Unloading 1–2 hours — straight to the right room, no piling everything in the living room
  6. Reassembly 30–60 minutes — beds back together, wardrobes rebuilt, TVs back on stands
  7. Walk-around and sign-off — final check, payment, keys handed over

For longer moves (3- and 4-bed homes, plus garages and lofts) we'll usually start at 7.30am and aim to be unloaded by mid-afternoon at the destination.

Local knowledge that saves you money

Every Bournemouth postcode has its quirks, and an experienced local crew saves real money on the clock. We know:

  • Which roads in BH2 West Cliff need parking suspensions booked with BCP Council, and which can be loaded from a side road instead
  • Where to find loading bays around BH15 Poole and how long you can sit in them legally
  • Which estates in BH23 Christchurch have time-restricted access for vans
  • Which Victorian terraces in Winton and Charminster have back-alley access that's actually easier than the front
  • Which Talbot Woods and Branksome Park houses have narrow gated driveways a Luton won't fit through
  • Where the height restrictions are in town-centre car parks (we run a 3.5m van — most multi-storeys are out)

That local knowledge means fewer wasted minutes on the clock and a smoother move-in day. It also means we'll often suggest a smarter loading approach than the obvious one — saving 30–60 minutes off a typical move.

Packing options — full, part, or DIY

You've got three options for packing, and we'll do whichever suits you best:

  • DIY packing — you do all the boxes, we just handle furniture and the move itself. Cheapest option. We can supply boxes and tape at cost.
  • Part-pack — you do the easy stuff (clothes, books, soft items) and we pack the fragiles (kitchen, glassware, electronics, art). Usually adds £80–£150 to a 2-bed quote.
  • Full pack-and-move — we do everything, usually starting the day before. Quoted individually based on rooms.

Most customers go for DIY or part-pack. Whichever you pick, we'll bring extra blankets and bubble on the day for anything that turns out to be more fragile than expected.

Need something smaller?

If you're moving a single room, a studio flat, or just a few big items, our man and van service is usually a better fit. For student moves between halls, shared houses and storage, see student removals. For single-item collections, furniture delivery is priced per item and usually cheapest.

How to book your move

  1. Send a room list or do a 5-minute video walk-through via WhatsApp.
  2. Get a flat written quote the same day, broken down so you can see what's included and what isn't.
  3. Lock in your date — we hold it as soon as you confirm. A small deposit secures peak end-of-month dates.
  4. The week before, we send a short checklist — parking, lift bookings, things to do the night before.
  5. Move day: we arrive in the agreed window, work steadily, and don't leave until you're happy.

Call 07879 168 829 or request a quote online — most replies go out within two working hours.

"I needed someone to pick up a sofa for me and Robert was brilliant from start to finish. Friendly on Wottsapp . The day before he messaged just to make sure everything was ok. He messaged me the morning of pick up & let me know what time they would be arriving. They were great getting the sofa downstairs and taking it to the flat. Nothing was too much trouble. I will definitely be using these guys again. Thanks to you both. Lisa Osborne"
