eBay & Marketplace Collection in Bournemouth, Poole & Christchurch

You spotted a bargain sofa on Facebook Marketplace in Christchurch but you drive a Fiat 500. The seller wants it gone by Saturday. eBay's "collect from seller" courier quotes are £45 for a chair and £180 for a sofa, plus you have to schedule it two weeks out. Marketplace collection from us is faster, cheaper, and includes lifting it through both doorways instead of leaving it on the kerb. This is the classic man with a van job — one item, two addresses, someone who lifts at both ends.

This is the page for anyone who has bought (or sold) a single second-hand item and needs it physically moved between two Dorset addresses — or further afield if it's worth the trip.

How it works

Send me the seller's postcode, your postcode, what the item is (rough dimensions help), and any access notes ("first floor, no lift" or "garage on the side of the house"). I'll quote a flat price within an hour. Typical jobs:

• Sofa from BH8 to BH15 (Charminster to Poole): £75
• Dresser from BH23 to BH9 (Christchurch to Moordown): £55
• Wardrobe from SO17 Southampton to BH4 Westbourne: £110
• Road bike + box from BH14 to BH7: £40 (single-item flat rate)
• Two-seater sofa + armchair from BH13 to BH11: £95
• Up to 60 miles out of Dorset (Salisbury, Romsey, Dorchester, Yeovil, Weymouth): from £130

I pay cash to the seller on your behalf if you'd prefer — you Bacs me, I hand over the agreed amount, you get a photo of the collection so you know it's done. Saves a trip and means you can buy from a seller who'd otherwise need cash on collection.

What can't be moved single-handed

Two-seater sofas, dressers, bikes, single beds, single mattresses, fridges under 150 cm and most flat-pack items can go on a single-person job (£45/hour, £45 minimum). For anything bigger — three-seater sofas, four-door wardrobes, American fridge-freezers, dining tables seating 8+ — it's a two-person job, which puts the minimum at £80. I'll tell you which it is when you send the photo.

Anything that needs disassembly (Marketplace wardrobes are notorious for being too tall to leave the bedroom in one piece) we'll take apart at the seller's, wrap the panels, and reassemble at yours. Bring your own original instructions if you have them; otherwise we photograph the build on the way out.

Vinted and small parcels

For Vinted, Etsy or eBay parcel-sized items there's almost always a cheaper option — Evri, InPost, Royal Mail. Use those. We're cost-effective from sofa-and-up; below that the courier networks beat us. Where we win on smaller items is urgency: same-day Bournemouth↔Poole, BH-to-BH only, £45 with a 90-minute window.

Insurance and condition

We carry goods-in-transit cover up to £10,000. Before we load anything we send you (and the seller) a photo of the item showing any existing damage — chips, tears, marks. If it arrives in the same condition it left, we've done our job. If the seller hands you a sofa with a rip you didn't see in the listing, that's between you and the seller — but we have photographic evidence to back you up.

For high-value items (sound systems, art, antiques, anything over £2,000), tell us in advance so we can use extra blankets and corner protectors.
