BH4 is compact — Westbourne village and its arcade at the centre, Alum Chine and the clifftop roads to the south, and the strip of West Cliff that spills over from BH2. The housing is mostly large Victorian villas cut into flats, mews houses behind the main roads, and a run of clifftop apartment blocks along West Overcliff Drive. Nearly every job here is a flat move or a delivery rather than a full house clearance. The detailed local page is Westbourne — that is the one to read if you are moving within the village.
Three miles from base, so no travel charge applies. What does affect the price in BH4 is the split between the easy half and the hard half. Poole Road and the mews behind it are straightforward. The clifftop blocks are not: several have no lift, the ones that do have lifts too small for a sofa, and the approach roads have double yellows almost end to end, so the van sits further away than anyone would like. If you are in a clifftop flat, tell us the floor and whether there is a lift when you ring — it is the single biggest factor in the quote, and we would rather price it right than turn up and surprise you.
